Meet A New Board Member – Nelson Serrano-Bahri
Nelson Serrano-Bahri is one of our newly elected board members who began his term as of March 18. He serves as the vice president & executive chef at Puerto Rico Food Innovations, LLC where he manages a team of 15 people focused on retail, foodservice and consulting with the goal of developing products that can compete with national brands.
To help our members get to know Nelson, we asked him a few questions:
What made you want to become a board member?
I have always wanted to find a way to help more. When approached about the opportunity to run, I accepted. I think it was the perfect way to have an impact and help in every way possible.
What is your favorite thing about RCA?
I must say that it is the ability to network and connect with people and professionals in the industry. Knowledge sharing is a very close second.
What is your favorite meal?
I love my grandmothers black beans. She served them with white rice, sweet fried plantains, and “bistec encebollado” (pan seared cubed steak with caramelized onions). Simple, delicious home cooking, my kind of comfort food.
